Early Years Visit to Stockeld Park
Wishing on magical golden coins, visiting Santa, taking a walk into the Enchanted Forest, meeting Russell the Talking Tree, hearing Rapunzel sing in her tower, walking over the Fairy Bridge, running away from Egor the Ogre, tackling the high ropes and having a snooze on the bus on the way home! The Early Years children packed so much into their wonderfully festive day at Stockeld Park.
Applied Maths comes to PP2
PP2 were busy last week applying everything they are learning in Maths to counting the term’s house points. They worked brilliantly in their houses to count the house points by first putting them into groups of 10 and then into groups of 100. There were lots of house points to count! Mrs Clarke will reveal the results and the winning Pre-Prep house at the end of term. Well done PP2, all that hard work in Maths lessons this term certainly paid off!
Learning Spanish with their Eyes Closed!
Miss Baggaley’s Leckby Spanish group enjoyed a whole new experience of Cundall last week. As part of their Spanish studies they have been learning about directions. So, to put their knowledge into practice, they blindfolded their partner and led them around the school using only Spanish directions. After a few potential stumbles and a lot of shouting ‘¡para!’ (stop!) they all found their way back to the classroom in the end.
The Christmas cakes are ready!
The full boarders have certainly been kept busy this half term. They have not only baked their own Christmas cake but they have decorated them too! Last weekend they marked the end of the Christmas cake competition with a tasting ceremony. Prizes were awarded for each cake. The winning cake, by a landslide victory went to the boys- Tim and Michael.
